Want to know more?

I get it, Permanent Makeup can be confusing and overwhelming if it’s a new concept to you. So I am here to make you feel as at ease as possible. I want you to feel confident in your decision to get this procedure done. Check out the questions I get asked most and if you still have other questions, feel free to send me a text or DM on Instagram for faster answers.

  • All types of permanent makeup are best for different types of people. I broke it down here.

  • Storie has 7 years of experience, has done 1,000s of happy client’s brows, and has instructed over 150 microblading artists.

  • I require that anyone who has had their brows tattooed previously by another artist text me a picture before booking an appointment. Even if you feel they are faded, please send a photo before booking so I can approve them & see if they are something I can work with. Any client coming to me from a different artist is considered a new client, with full prices.

  • First you arrive at Venus House in Downtown Salt Lake City. Storie begins by applying a topical numbing cream, and while it is working its magic you fill out a questionnaire and consent form. Next Storie will draw on the shape of your brows. She will make any requested adjustments to the shape and then begin either microblading or machine work on your brows. If you’re unsure of what type of PMU you want, reach out prior to booking and feel free to chat through it at your appointment. Once your brows are complete you will see your new look and Storie will walk you through aftercare instructions.

  • Permanent brows (microblading, nano brows, or hybrid brows) typically lasts between one to three years, although the duration can vary depending on individual factors such as skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare.

  • After your appointment, the treated area will appear darker and bolder for the first few days. Over the following weeks, the pigment will lighten as the skin heals. It is normal to experience mild redness, itching, and flaking during the healing process. Provide them with any immediate healing tips as well (dabbing lymph, etc.)

  • Some discomfort may be experienced during your procedure, but it is generally tolerable.

  • The initial appointment can take anywhere from one to four hours. This time includes the consultation, design, numbing, and the work itself. A touch-up session, done 4-10 weeks after your initial appointment, may take less time.

  • I’ve broken it all down for you here.

  • Yes, you can apply makeup directly to the brow area after 2 weeks.

  • Storie has never had any issues, but like any cosmetic procedure, there are potential risks and side effects with permanent makeup. These can include allergic reactions, infection, scarring, or dissatisfaction with the results. However, when performed by a trained and experienced professional using proper sterilization techniques, the risks are minimized.

  • Permanent Cosmetics are suitable for most individuals, but there are certain factors that may make someone ineligible for the procedure. These include pregnancy, breastfeeding, certain medical conditions, skin diseases or infections in the brow area, and certain medications or treatments that thin the blood. Mature skin can also be an issue, so we suggest hybrid brows to anyone over 60.

  • -No drinking alcohol 24 hours before your appointment.

-No coffee/caffeine 12 hrs. prior to your appointment.

-If you tint your brows, you will want to do so 72 hours before your appointment.

-You must not use Retin-A near the brow area 2 weeks before or after the procedure.

-Discontinue use of fish oils or blood thinners for 7 days prior to your appointment.

-You will need to avoid water any 10-14 days after (includes excessive sweating, pools, lakes, salt water; and extreme sun exposure, so plan your vacations accordingly!)

-No Botox, fillers, Microdermabrasion, chemical peels or anything of the like for at least 2 weeks prior to your procedure.

-Come prepared with headphones, a blanket, or pictures of your eyebrows when you have liked them.

  • Yes! All Permanent Cosmetic procedures require 2 sessions. It is a 2 part process especially if we are building your brows! During your 4-10 week follow-up we can assess your pigment retention and make any adjustments needed. This follow-up also increases the longevity of your new brows. I include this in the cost of your initial appointment.

  • Every pair of brows is a 2-3 step process with a minimum of a 4-10 week gap in between appointments.

Once the desired color and shape is achieved:

Brow touchups are recommended every 12-24 months to keep the color fresh and the strokes crisp. I suggest to only come in when the brows are at least 50% faded. Going over the brows too often can cause unnecessary trauma to the skin. Adding more pigment than is needed can result in an unwanted result. I always recommend getting your brows tinted if you are looking for a darker brow, this is the better option for your brow longevity.

Touchups, also known as 'color boosts', come down to preference and skin type. Therefore time varies based on each client's preference and skin type. Those with oily skin will most likely need additional or more frequent touchups.

  • I advise against getting any permanent procedures or treatments during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. Hormonal changes can make the mother more susceptible to infections, slow down the healing process or change the color of the pigmentation.

  • If you are planning to get both treatments, then combine them in a way that brows are done first and Botox later.

Ideally, there should be at least a 2 weeks gap between both treatments because the healing process of PMU takes time. If you get botox first, allow it time to settle before committing to new brows, as the position or shape may be different than without botox.

  • No! PMU requires no down time. All redness and swelling with go away a couple of hours after your appointment.

  • Yes, alcohol and drugs can impair the body's natural healing process and potentially lead to complications such as delayed healing, infection, or poor pigment retention. It's best to avoid these substances during the critical healing period.

  • Common contraindications include:

    -Pregnancy and breastfeeding

-Skin conditions (active eczema, psoriasis, etc.)

    -Blood-thinning medications

    -History of keloid scarring

-Diabetes (consultation with a healthcare provider is advised)

    -Immune disorders

-History of allergic reactions to pigments or topical anesthetics

  • It is generally recommended to wait at least six months after completing an Accutane course before getting PMU done. Accutane can affect the skin's healing and regeneration process, which might impact the results and safety of your new work.

  • The waiting time can vary depending on the depth and intensity of the chemical peel. In most cases, it's recommended to wait at least 4-6 weeks after a superficial peel and up to 8-12 weeks after a deeper peel before getting PMU done.

It's generally advised to avoid chemical peels on or near the treated area, as the peeling process can potentially affect the appearance of your new brows. Consult with your artist for specific recommendations.

  • Yes, it's essential to inform your artist if you're using Retin-A or any other topical retinoids. This information helps them determine the best course of action and the appropriate waiting period before the procedure.

  • It's generally recommended to wait until your skin has fully healed from sunburn or injury before getting any work done. PMU on damaged skin can lead to uneven healing, poor pigment retention, and potentially compromised results.

  • PMU on mature skin might require a slightly different approach. Mature skin can be thinner and may have less elasticity, affecting how the pigment is retained. A skilled artist can adjust their technique to accommodate these factors. However, we do suggest hybrid brows to anyone over 60.

  • Venus House is located just south of 1700 S and Main St. It is located on the west side of the street just South of Penny Ann’s Cafe. It is the tan building that says Venus House. Parking is available along the street. Storie is located on the second floor, but please wait in the lobby.

  • Microblading is a manual method used to deposit individual hair strokes of pigment into the superficial layer of the dermis. These hair strokes mimic the look of natural hairs giving a fuller brow look and is ideal for dry to normal skin. Microblading is great for anyone who has regular hair growth and is looking for more shape and/or structure in their brows. This is the more natural looking brow of the two brow services.

Hybrid Brows can be done manually or with a machine, is more of a pixilated fill that gives the look of doing your brows with a pencil or powder makeup and can be as soft or as dramatic as you want it. Hybrid Brows are best for people who have little to no hair, mature or oily skin. This is a great option for anyone that is missing patches of brow hair. If you prefer your eyebrows on the denser side (more filled in look) then you will probably prefer a combo brow.

If you are still unsure, you can book as a microblading appointment and we can upgrade to a hybrid brow after our consultation at your appointment. If you upgrade services, you will be charged the combo brow price.

If you book as a hybrid brow but opt for microblading then you are still charged the combo brow price due to the allotted time.

  • I ask that you come to your appointment alone to limit distractions and keep my schedule running on time.

Due to the nature of my space, kids and babies are not allowed.

  • I accept Venmo, Zelle, debit or credit cards, and cash.

I also accept payment plans though Cherry.

  • If you can no longer make your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible! Your non-refundable deposit can not be refunded but will be used towards your next appointment if rebooked within 30 days!
